Another four of the immensely popular koalas located along the Town Green were damaged over the weekend.
Two of the Hello Koala Public Sculpture Trail statues - Celtic Koala and Koala-Z were stolen on Saturday - while Scoop and Sandy Paws were shifted from their plinths.
Celtic Koala was recovered after a witness to its theft reported seeing it being carried along the boardwalk.
Port Macquarie police spoke to two 17-year-old tourists from Sydney, but they could not be questioned as a responsible adult was unavailable.
Koala-Z, usually located at North Coast TAFE campus on Widderson Street, was found at 8.20am Saturday in the front garden of home in the street, after an anonymous tip to police.
Sculpture trail owner and Arts and Health Australia executive director Margret Meagher said all five of the sculptures damaged by vandals are now off the trail and will cost more than $1000 to repair and replace.
The other vandalised koala is OMA, originally found in Longworth Park, Laurieton.
Police are still investigating the incidents.
