The crash happened about 1pm and caused even greater delays on the heavily-used road.
Police were forced to close one lane of traffic for over an hour as they directed motorists past the crash site.
An Ambulance NSW spokesman said one person was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with minor injuries.
There was an eight kilometre delay for northbound traffic, while those heading south had to encounter a two kilometre queue near Blackmasn Point.
Sunday, 11.38am: A three-car crash south of the Dennis Bridge slowed traffic on the Pacific Highway on Sunday morning, with northbound queues backed up past the Oxley Highway.
Emergency services were called to the crash about 11am, about 400 metres of the bridge's southern side near Hastings River Drive.
Ambulances were at the scene, though it's not known how many people were taken to hospital or the extent of their injuries.
The State Emergency Service were called, but were not needed to cut drivers or passengers from vehicles.
Police were unable to give the reason for the crash as they were busy directing traffic and helping at the scene.
The Transport Management Centre asked those in the area to exercise caution as holiday delays of more than five kilometres were expected to worsen.
