The Lions Club of Port Macquarie Tacking Point were surprised to find emergency services suffered a lack of trauma teddy bears.
Such toys were supplied by community groups over the years to small children suffering from the stress of traumatic events.
The mission to bring back trauma teddies has been led by the steady stitching of Dahlsford Lifestyle Village's handicraft ladies, who have managed to create 150 toys with Lions and their partners.
On Thursday the bears were dropped off to Port Macquarie's police and ambulance stations.
But the mission is not yet complete, and Lions Club of Port Macquarie-Tacking Point's president Stuart Aston is asking future teddy-makers to join the cause.
Anyone who can assist is asked to call Mr Aston on 6583 3561.
