The golf course was in excellent condition and the strong winds of earlier in the week had abated and this led to a strong field contesting the event that was sponsored by The Good Guys.
Dave Tydd, or Billy as he is known to his mates, had the best net score of the day, taking out B grade with 63.
Playing from a handicap of 16, he had 39 out and 40 home and finished three shots ahead of the rest of B grade.
He made consecutive birdies at the 5th and 6th holes and had another one at the 16th hole. At the four par three holes he had two birdies, a par and a double bogey.
Paul Thongkai was the B grade runner up with 66 net and third place went to Geoff Staines who had 67 net.
Two players made 65 net in C grade and Garry Kelly won the countback to take the major trophy in this grade.
His round could have been even better if it had not been for a triple bogey at the 12th hole.
However triple bogeys are a feature of C grade golfers. Kelly had 44 out and 46 home and he beat Julian Duxberry on a countback.
Duxberry's score was spoiled at the par threes where he had two triple bogeys, a double bogey and a bogey to be nine over par for those four holes.
Trent McKeough beat Rob Hollins on a countback for third place after they each returned a score of 66 net. After taking fifty around the front McKeough had a great back nine of forty.
Mick Couper was another to have contrasting nines, taking 43 around the front and then having a back nine of 36.
His 79 off the stick gave him a net score of 68 to win A grade.
He was two under par for the last six holes.
He beat Ben Hamilton and David Greentree on a countback. Hamilton had a one under par 70 off the stick and Greentree had a pair of 38s.
Kyle Flynn won the scratch prize with 71.
Kevin Hall has recently returned to golf after knee surgery and he had the thrill of a hole in one at 13th hole.
Barry Filshie made an eagle two at the par four 14th hole.
The ball competition went down to 72 on a countback and the nearest to the pins were won by Hall, Hamilton, Murray McGrath and Ron Bennetts.
Sunday's medley fourball was the Stuart Rayner affair.
Rayner played as a swinger. That is he had two partners and he won the event with one partner and was the runner up with the other.
He and Belinda Richardson had 47 points and he made 46 points with Col Hardwick.
Rayner had a terrific front nine, winning nearest to the pin at the 7th hole and having birdies at the 2nd, 3rd and 8th holes.
Geoff Staines and Bev Morris won a countback for third place with 44 points.
Lorraine Swift made an eagle three at the par five twelfth hole and the other nearest to the pins were won by Annette Jackson, Brett Martin and Bronwyn Heagney.
The ball competition went down to 43 points on a countback.
