O'Neil, who is the last Australian to win their home grand slam, just needs some courts to get started on.
O'Neil has been coaching since her retirement in 1985, and is keen to continue giving back to the game she loves when she comes to town.
She will be in Port Macquarie on Tuesday to check out some of the facilities in town.
O'Neil has found securing a location to run her coaching business more difficult than she anticipated.
"It's been a real hard slog," she said. "I just need a court. Any court would do.
"It's all a bit up in the air at the moment."
She is looking to make the permanent move from Cessnock in mid-December.
O'Neil will be disappointed to leave behind some juniors whose progress she has overseen. She believes in passing on more than just tennis talent.
"I want to see them develop as nice people," she said. "I love coaching all ages and abilities."
