Over 190 people turned out to recognise and celebrate the achievements of local sportspeople and volunteers this morning at 2014 Hastings Sports Awards breakfast presented by The Rotary Club of Port Macquarie Sunrise.

Hosted by NBN’s Mike Rabbit, the breakfast recognised the achievements of 56 nominees across eight independently judged categories.
Sunrise Rotary president, Dr Robert Clarke congratulated all the nominees and Award winners on their achievements over the last 12 months.
“The Hastings Sports Awards highlight the talent and passion for sport across our community. All nominees and award winners should be proud as they raise the interest of all of us in sporting activities!” Robert said.
The winners of the 2014 Hastings Sports Awards are:
- Sportsperson of the Year – Shelley Watts
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year under 12 years – Lleyton Wall
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year under 18 years – Claire Coelho and Paige Leonhardt
- Junior Team – MacKillop Senior College Boys Triathlon Team
- Senior Team – Port Macquarie Senior Mens Oztag
- Sportsperson with a Disability (physical) – Janel Manns
- Sportsperson with a Disability (intellectual) – Morgan Jean
- Sporting Volunteer of the Year – Ken Little
- Excellence Awards: Jessica Rayner, Justin McIntyre, Hastings Public School Kilometre Club
