A QantasLink spokesman said the airline was suspending its direct Brisbane-Port Macquarie service from January 7 due to low passenger numbers.
The last service will operate on January 6.
A QantasLink spokesman said despite the hard work of QantasLink and its partners to promote the service and using a smaller aircraft on the route to better match capacity with demand, forward bookings remained low.
"QantasLink remains committed to Port Macquarie as part of our network and we operate up to 31 return services each week to Sydney," the spokesman said.
The airline launched the route on May 1 with a daily service between Port Macquarie and Brisbane.
Customers who are booked on the service after January 6 are able to make another booking and are eligible for a refund.
QantasLink apologised for any inconvenience.
Virgin Australia continues to fly between Port Macquarie and Brisbane.
