The two groups are raising funds for a much-needed sporting building in Port Macquarie: A clubhouse at Oxley Oval.
The first major event of the fundraiser is a sports ball on November 15 at The Westport Club.
The event is formal dress. Tickets are $65 per person which includes a two-course meal.
Comedian Grant Hayes will entertain the crowd.
Supporters hope to lodge a development application before the ball date, and the building plans will be launched on the night.
The plans have been drawn up by local firm King and Campbell.
Fundraising is a big task. Hastings River District Cricket Association president Shane Williams estimated about $1.5 million was needed.
Along with a clubhouse, it is also hoped there will be lights around the oval.
That will allow for night cricket matches, Vikings training and other sports to use the oval at night.
Williams said sportspeople from all sports were invited to the ball.
"We're hoping to have all codes come along and represent," he said.
Ball tickets are available from The Westport Club.
