Weather permitting, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the NSW Rural Fire Service will burn adjacent to the Cairncross Waste facility 9am and 6pm.
If conditions are not favourable, the NSW RFS will consider re-scheduling the burn for the following weekend.
The hazard reduction burns are designed to reduce the risk of damaging fires and the potential loss of life and/or property.
You are asked to exercise caution in the vicinity of all planned hazard reduction burns. Traffic management will be implemented as required.
The hazard reduction burn in Cairncross State Forest along the Pacific Highway north of Port Macquarie created a 'spectacular' haze during the week.
