Carol Turnham (swim), Sue Leahy (bike) and Nicole Cook (run) had a dream run on their home course in a great result.
Turnham returned a personal best of an incredible 10 minutes lower than her previous mark on the 1.9 kilometre swim.
She finished in 24 minutes, 41 seconds.
Turnham took advantage of the fantastic conditions to start the race.
She said it was conducive to a great swim.
"It was like glass," Turnham said of the Hastings River course.
"It was like a swimming pool."
The success continued on the bike. Leahy had an issue on the way up to Flynns Beach on the first lap, but after that, things were fantastic.
A breeze came up on the second lap.
"It was pretty hot and windy," Leahy said.
Leahy finished her 90km leg in 2:47.
Cook brought it home well on the run, in 1:30.
Turnham and Leahy joined her to run up the finishing chute at the end of the half marathon.
"I was wondering how we were going to keep up," Leahy said.
"I thought I was going to cramp up, and she was going so fast." As with every race, Cook had a goal to finish strongly.
She looked brave, but on the inside, she was struggling in the last 500 metres.
"There wasn't too much left in the tank at that stage," Cook said.
The Port Girls, as the team is known, will look to have a crack at defending their win in 2015.
"If we're all still around," Leahy said.
They love the camaraderie, but things can go wrong in a team race.
"I feel for the rider," Turnham said.
"Something could happen mechanically, which wouldn't be their fault."
