Sunrise Rotary president Robert Clarke was impressed by the local talent and passion for sport across the Hastings that each of the nominations demonstrated.
"From the Commonwealth Gold medallist Shelley Watts to our youngest nominees, Joel, Lleyton and Morgan, the passion for sport in our region shines through in every nomination," Clarke said.
"Our judges have a hard task ahead."
While there are plenty of champions among the nominations, the awards also aim to recognise those who contribute to sport off the field.
Sunrise Rotary is proud to welcome world champion Ryley Batt to the judging panel.
He joins Sue Reid, Mark Strachan and Port News sports reporter Matt McLennan on the judging panel.
"Ryley has been a nominee, winner and long-time supporter of the Hastings Sports Awards so we are very proud to welcome him to the judging side of the awards," Clarke said.
"The key to the Hastings Sports Awards is it is not just about winning but about taking a moment to celebrate the achievements of local people in sport."
The community is invited to help local sportspeople celebrate their achievements over the past 12 months by attending the awards presentation breakfast on Friday, October 31.
Well known NBN sports presenter Mike Rabbitt will host the presentation breakfast from 6.45am at Rydges.
Tickets are $25 and can be booked by emailing HastingsSportsAwards@gmail.com or call Joy on 0407 845 111.
