Some of Australia's leading travel writers, passionate community advocates and the regional tourism industry will share their experiences with a broad audience during the #mylegendarydrive social media campaign.
A team of travel writers will visit major destinations along the Pacific Drive, posting across the social media platforms of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and the Legendary Pacific Coast website.
Brisbane-based freelance writer and travel blogger Phoebe Lee will visit Greater Port Macquarie from today until Wednesday.
The writers will promote the journey and the people, places and experiences which make up the fabric, colour and personality of each region along the way.
North Coast Destination Network executive officer Belinda Novicky said the social media campaign would drive passion and positive parochialism between destinations.
There has already been an increase in social media posts from the industry.
Ms Novicky said key to the campaign's success would be community and tourism industry participation with people pushing their passion for their home turf and what made it special.
She said the campaign encouraged anybody to share pride in their town and what the area had to offer.
"Our visitors really like hearing what locals love to do," Ms Novicky said.
"This is a great opportunity for locals to give them inside tips."
