The new school off Ocean Drive will have 10 classrooms, a library, hall, canteen, special programs area, administration, staff facilities, toilets, games and assembly courts, a covered outdoor learning area, sports field and a car park, as well as landscaping.
Construction remains on time for completion by the end of the year.
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said she recently toured the construction site and like the rest of the community was really pleased to see the progress of the works.
"The classrooms are built, the framework and roof of the administration block, library and toilets are on, as is the hall," she said.
"The next stage to be completed is the roof of the multi-sports centre which is currently underway."
New school principal Jock Garven joined Mrs Williams on the school tour last week.
Planning behind the scenes includes working on schedules, exploring possibilities for school logos and school uniforms and establishing parent committees.
"The other important matter being discussed is bus transport for school children which is vitally important," Mrs Williams said.
"I know that Busways is in the process of finalising the bus timetable with a bus pass being made available to every student attending the new school regardless of where they live until there are safe pedestrian routes to the school."
