The fashionable gentlemen and ladies were proof Monday was a very special occasion.
The clients of Access Community Education Services were decked out in their rock and roll clobber for a one-off performance of hip-shaking and hollering.
Teacher Greta Warner said the group spent the nine prior Monday mornings dipping, dancing and belting their lungs out to finest hits from 1940s and '50s.
Enthusiasm ensured volume, but it was practice which ensured the group were the real deal.
"They like to sing nice and loud, (but) we've also been singing along the way more formally with scales," Ms Warner said.
"We do ear training, focusing on notes and sounds, and listening to other instruments."
The class may have finished with their performance on Monday morning, but their enthusiasm has inspired others to shuffle into line.
A new class started last Thursday, which their teacher says is "fabulous" and filled "with all new people."
And there is every chance the characters could become even fancier in future classes.
"Next time we might look at something like the disco era," Ms Warner said.
"Or maybe even ABBA."
