The 20-year-old allegedly used a large sandstone block to smash through the front door of Port City Bowling Club about 3am on Sunday.
Police allege he then stole a polo shirt from the club's shop, before damaging other parts of the Owen Street business.
Club chief executive Russell Stockham said display cabinets, bottles, a gaming machine, tills and other electronic equipment were all allegedly damaged.
The building was empty at the time, and police arrived to find the intruder sitting on the club's floor.
He was arrested and charged with break and entry, theft and damaging more than $15,000 in property.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Port Macquarie Local Court on October 15.
