Footy boots and netball uniforms are now safely packed away for the winter as the region’s youngsters make their annual migration to the beach for another season of nippers.
And the Port Macquarie Surf Life Saving Club is open for business.
The Flynns Beach-based club will host a registration day at the Port Macquarie Olympic Pool tomorrow.
Junior activities chair Glen Towle said returning and new members could register for the new season from noon until 4pm.
“Nippers is a great thing for families to get involved in and we expect to see a good roll-up of new and returning members Saturday,” Towle said.
“Youngsters in the under eight to under 14 age groups must complete a timed pool swim and those from under 9s and above must also complete an ocean proficiency swim which we will hold on Sunday at Flynns Beach.”
The ocean swim will start at 9.30am sharp.
