Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said she encouraged anyone interested in getting involved with the new school to attend the meetings.
Construction work on the multi-million dollar Lake Cathie Public School is on time for completion by the end of this year.
The new school comprising 10 classrooms, a library, hall, canteen, special programs area, administration, staff facilities, toilets, games and assembly courts, a covered outdoor learning area, sports field, a car park, as well as landscaping.
"Recently I toured the construction site and like the rest of the community was really pleased to see the progress of the works," Mrs Williams said.
"The classrooms are built, the framework and roof of the administration block, library and toilets are on, as is the hall.
"The next stage to be completed is the roof of the multi-sports centre which is expected within the next few weeks.
"It is not until you are actually on site that you appreciate the size and scale of the school.
"I had the pleasure of joining the new school principal, Jock Garvin and Hastings Public School Education Director Mark Youngblutt to inspect the buildings.
"Apart from all of the construction work being carried out, there is lots happening behind the scenes discussing planning schedules, exploring possibilities for school logos and school uniforms as well as establishing local parent committees."
The first of the community meetings will be held tomorrow night at 7pm in the Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club.
"I encourage anyone interested in getting involved with the school to attend the meetings.
"Further community meetings will be held in October," Mrs Williams said.
The Lake Cathie Public School will open on day one, term One 2015.
