Patches of lawn at his six month old home had been lifted, holes had been drilled in the walls of his Currawong Drive property and a small tunnel had been excavated underneath his driveway.

His neighbours soon informed him on his return that Thiess contract workers installing cabling for the National Broadband Network (NBN) had been working on his property.

Mr Clayton now wants answers, claiming he was not informed that works were being conducted in the area, nor did he give permission for any work to be carried out on his property.

"They have absolutely desecrated my front yard. I came home and couldn't believe it," Mr Clayton said.

"The neighbours came out while they were here and asked them what they were doing and they just continued on.

"I've only been here since February. My driveway is now cracked and they've drilled holes in the brickwork of my home to install brackets. And a cosmetic conduit cover I had covering up a pipe is now missing.

"They have come on to my property without my permission. I don't even want the NBN - they obviously have the wrong house."

Mr Clayton claimed debris and rocks were left all over his lawn and dirty hand prints on the walls.

Mr Clayton contacted police who visited his property on Tuesday night, and he has also made a formal complaint which is now being dealt with by an NBN case manager.

"I don't want them to come back here. I'd like an engineer to check my driveway where they have stuck something underneath it and I want the paintwork fixed. And I want the grass they've dug up taken out and replaced with new grass," Mr Clayton said.

A spokesperson from NBN Co provided a brief statement to the Port News confirming the matter is now being investigated.
