And weatherzone meteorologist Rob Sharpe says the fine weather is likely to continue through the week, although there is some showers forecast.

"According to weatherzone's weather models, we are seeing the likelihood of a few showers on Wednesday and even possibly through to the early afternoon," he said.

"These will clear off during tomorrow afternoon and the temperature is likely to reach around 24 degrees. You will also probably experience some moderate winds too.

"On Thursday, you should see a sunny day with 23 degrees while on Friday there is the small chance of a light shower or two. Saturday should be very similar to Friday's weather forecasts although both days will be a little cooler at around the 20 to 21 degree mark."

Mr Sharpe said Sunday will be mostly sunny with temperatures reaching around the 22 degree mark.

The current weather pattern is due to a high pressure ridge sitting over the region. Tomorrow's showers are due to a low pressure trough that will move through the region. This is in association with the cold front that is providing damaging winds in Victoria, Mr Sharpe said.

The high pressure ridge will return on Thursday with moist onshore winds bringing the chance of some showers on Friday and Saturday.

The meteorologist said the wet and cool start to the month had been overtaken by warmer and dryer conditions this week.

"In September, Port Macquarie airport has received 26 millimetres of rain and every day this month has been below the September average temperature of 23 degrees," he said.
