A DRIVER with a disqualified licence was held in custody after a weekend police pursuit through Port Macquarie.

The 25-year-old Port Macquarie man's red Ford Laser was allegedly noticed by police on Swift Street about 5.40pm on Saturday.
They followed the car left onto Kennedy Drive, then onto Boambee St and Yarramundi Road.
The driver allegedly refused to slow when police flashed their lights, and increased speed as he drove down the wrong side of Teraglin Rd.
Police said the man was allegedly travelling 70 km/h, more than 20 kilometres in excess of the speed limit
The pursuit ended in nearby Jabuk Close when the car mounted the curb and stopped outside a house.
The driver was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged for driving during a period of disqualification, police pursuit and not stopping when directed.
He was refused bail and will appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on September 3.
