And what better way for a roller derby team to celebrate then to hold the likes of the Violence of the Slams.
The event will see our local side go up against the might of the Coastal Knockout Saffires from the Central Coast.
The Port side are yet to come up with a win but media officer, and team blocker, Renee Ansley, aka Baroness Shred-er said it's not all about winning.
"We have played maybe 15 games so far," she said.
"We haven't won one yet but, it really is a sport that's not all about winning.
"Seriously, there's been times we've come of the court and not even realised we've lost it's just a lot of fun."
The anniversary game holds lots of meaning for the girls in the team but none more so than Candy Chumino.
It will be her first game back since giving birth."
Ansley said the club has moved from strength to strength despite struggling to make a mark on the score board.
"We now have something like 80 members," she said.
"And we train at the Wauchope Indoor Stadium five nights a week."
She explained there were different levels of ability from beginner skaters right up to the "battle hardened" competitors.
"Everyone works their way up the levels until they make the team and eventually we should have enough for two local teams," Ansley said.
"That's the plan for next year so that we can have monthly battles against each other."
Ansley said the sport had evolved so much more than when Port first fielded a team and it was being taken more seriously.
"There's a lot of athletes who are getting involved, it's no longer just girls in fishnet stockings," she said.
"It has a lot more credibility, it's a full on sport and can be quite bruising, it's the nature of the game, it's heavy contact, it's addictive and fun and entertaining."
The doors open at 4pm with the game getting underway at 5pm at the Wauchope Indoor Centre.
Following the battle an after party will be held at Settlers Inn where awards will be handed out.
