Police said the truck was travelling north from Sydney to Brisbane with a load of rubbish.
"The driver told police he felt a 'shaking' in the rear tyres of the B-double before veering off the roadway, colliding with the roadside barrier before coming to rest down an embankment on its side," a police spokesperson said.
"The driver was unable to correct the vehicle once it came in contact with the grass verge ... leaving a 70 metre trail of barrier and trees in its path.
"Paramedics checked the 38 year old driver for any injury and he was given the all clear."
Emergency services attended the scene and a decision on just how to right the vehicle will be taken today.
A second vehicle driven by an 18 year old woman collided with barrier debris on the highway. Her vehicle sustained some damage.
