A mild week has greeted Port Macquarie folk and is expected to stay leading into what may be a wet weekend.
Today a cold front will move through, dropping temperatures considerably.
On Saturday winds will tend southerly and bring the chance of coastal showers during the weekend.
Last Saturday saw strong rain and while it may not fall as heavily this time around, golfers at the Seaside Classic may find the course a bit damp.
July has been warmer than usual during the day, whilst mornings have been colder than usual with the coldest July nights since 2008, averaging just over 5 degrees at Port Macquarie Airport.
July has also been drier than average with 30mm. This is less than half the average of the last 19 years (75mm).
On the weekend the mercury is set to plunge with Saturday likely to be the coldest day.
There is a low chance of showers on Sunday.
Most of each day will be dry, so if people were willing to brave the cool breezy weather on the weekend then heading outdoors should be fine.
Seas will increase moderately over the weekend, with a 3-5ft swell hitting the beaches so fishermen are urged to take care when casting out their line.
