2pm: Fire personnel have the scrub fire on Pacific Drive under control. There is still a significant amount of smoke in the area and motorists are urged to take caution or avoid the area.
1.20pm Thursday: Pacific Drive has been closed off as firefighters continue to try to extinguish a scrub fire on the ocean side.
There is extensive smoke in the area as the fire spreads up the hill towards the road, fuelled by the windy conditions.
1.10pm Thursday: Port Macquarie Fire & Rescue engines have been deployed to corner of Home Street and Pacific Drive for a scrub fire.
Home Street is just past Windmill Hill. Initial reports indicate a witness has allegedly seen a number of children running away from the scene.
