The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he was unaware NSW Lotteries had been searching for the mystery ticket holder who won first division and other divisional prizes totalling $1,006,962.55 in Wednesday Lotto draw 3367.
“It’s funny because I’d walked past the newsagency and noticed the sign that said they’d sold division one,” the stunned winner told a NSW Lotteries official.
“I even joked to myself that it must be me. But I didn’t realise it actually was me until I checked my Wednesday Lotto numbers.
“I’ve been playing those winning numbers for around 20 years. I got them from a QuickPick entry that I bought years ago and I’ve been playing them ever since.”
The shocked Wednesday Lotto millionaire said it was too early to say what he might do with his prize money.
NSW Lotteries recommends customers register their entries to a Players Club card. Not only does registration ensure your prizes are secure, it also ensures you can be contacted directly with news of a division one win.
The winning System 8 Wednesday Lotto entry was purchased at Plaza Newsagency Port Macquarie, Shops 3 and 4 in Palm Court Centre, corner of Short and Williams Streets in Port Macquarie.
The ticket purchased in Port Macquarie was the only division one winning entry in Wednesday Lotto which offers a guaranteed division one prize of $1 million for up to four winners in each draw.
