ANGOURIE resident Chris Zaffis is going for a double triumph at the NSW Junior Surf Titles this weekend.
Fresh off the back of winning the schools under 19s title, Zaffis was surfing in the individual under 18s heats on Wednesday.
He hoped to stick around and still be in the running come Sunday for the finals.
"It's a long event," he said.
Zaffis made the most of the four-foot swell to win the title on Tuesday.
"They were good conditions," he said.
"It was pretty nice. I got a couple of nice waves.
"I'm feeling pretty stoked."
Jared Hickle took second place at Zac Wightman came third.
Zaffis will head to Western Australia in December for the national titles.
They are at Margaret River, and Zaffis couldn't wait to head west and have a crack at them.
"I'm pretty stoked to be making it," he said.
Back home the surf has been fantastic, but Zaffis was still pleased with the conditions in Port Macquarie.
"I can't complain, it's still been fun."
