That result should have relegated them to second but in a twist of fate the LDS Tiling team, who should have overtaken Telstra and won the title, were forced to forfeit their match due to their players either working out of town or injured. It was an amazing set of events that no one could have possibly predicted.
Congratulations go to all the minor premiers, GN Painting and Decorating in B Grade, The Rig Ins in C Grade and Port Macquarie Finest in D Grade.
This Wednesday night the semi finals begin in all grades and all 16 teams will play.
The top two teams in each grade will do battle for the right to progress to the grand final while the loser will meet the winner of the three versus four match in the final the following week. The ladder is available for all to see at www.portmacqaurietouch.com
Our good wishes go to The Ring Ins player young Maddy Rudd, who fell and broke her wrist in last week's game and needed surgery to repair the damage. Hope you can make it out on Wednesday to cheer your team on Maddy.
Organisers have planned some food and drinks for this week (weather permitting) as it will be the last opportunity to have all teams together and enjoy a bit of socialising.
Let's hope this cold snap has passed and we get a mild evening.
Any players wishing to take part in this year's State Cup should go to the abovementioned web site and fill in the expression of interest form so the club can get an idea on how many teams will represent Port Touch at the big one.
The club is very happy with the number of applications received from prospective coaches for this representative season so all is looking good for an excellent showing.
I would like to thank all the teams who played this winter for their help and assistance and wish them all the very best of luck through the final series. I encourage all teams to have a yarn about entering the team in the upcoming summer competition (all details on the website).
Well, that's it for another week and just remember, keep in touch.
