Not only will there be a double header, with the main act being the Kendall Blues taking on the South West Rocks Marlins in a top of the table clash and the Comboyne Tigers up against The Harrington Hurricanes.
But the Kendall club have organised a fundraising charity day that will go toward the Wesley Hospital Kim Walters Choices, the Curtis Landers Appeal and the Rise for Alex.
The club have timed their round perfectly which aligns with the NRL’s Rise for Alex round.
Ultimately the club are supporting the Jordan Rice Foundation which will split the money raised between the worthy charities.
The Jordan Rice foundation was formed by John Tyson, the father of a young boy who was swept away in the Queensland floods.
Jordan tragically died with his mother Donna when he bravely told rescuers to take his younger brother first.
When rescuers returned they had been swept away.
The Blues will turn pink for the game with new jerseys ordered specially for the match.
Skydivers will also drop in before the game delivering the pink match ball.
And at half time spectators will have the opportunity to kick for $100 cash.
One of the organisers of the day, Rheannon Chapman, said the club were proud to hold the day and help the charities out.
“We’re hoping to raise in the vicinity of between $5,000 and $10,00,” she said.
The day kicks off at 9am with juniors followed by the Tigers and Hurricanes match at 1pm.
President of the club Wayne Wilkes said he would like to see the day become an annual event and thanked all the clubs involved for making the day possible.
“Depending on the response we get we’d like to do something like this every year,” he said.
“The other clubs, South West Rocks, Harrington and Comboyne have all really come to the party to help out.
“And hopefully they will all come back to the club for a beer and for the fundraising auction.”
