Knowing when to let your child explore the internet and when to bring them back to reality has become an increasingly difficult task with the advent of portable devices necessary for school and social interaction.
How often have you arrived home as a parent only to see everyone on the couches with half an eye on TV and half an eye on their hand-held device – sometimes even chatting to each other across the lounges!
Having some control over the use of these devices is something most parents can manage to a degree, but with some schools requiring open settings to download information critical to the curriculum, it can be impossible.
By having the conversation with your child and setting some boundaries around the use of the devices, it could help them to gain valuable social skills that will help them through life.
