Police believe the man was loading a large industrial engine onto a forklift when the engine toppled forward trapping the man underneath. It is not known what caused the engine to fall.

The man died at the scene, remaining trapped underneath the engine for more than two hours.

The police forensic team from Taree will attend the scene and commence investigations.

Emergency services including two ambulances and a mobile response team with the support of police attended the scene shortly after 2pm.

The accident occurred at the southern end of the warehouse. All staff were sent home with only a few remaining to assist emergency personnel.
