The aim is to have the Clifton Drive multidisciplinary practice's doors open in September.

Director Dr Warwick Yonge said they were interested in speaking with GPs, allied health specialists, nurses, medical reception and administration workers who would like to join the centre.

Construction is continuing to turn the former Lourdes Nursing Home in Clifton Drive into a modern super clinic.

Renovation of the main clinical wing has just about finished, the central entrance is on track for completion in about six weeks and the front of the site is being levelled ready for about 100 parking spots.

"We are stoked with how it looks and how it is coming together," Dr Yonge said.

The then federal government sealed a $7 million agreement in 2011 with Rural and Metropolitan Health (Port

Macquarie) to establish the super clinic.

Dr Yonge said the aim was to have at least five doctors and a range of allied health on board when the centre opened.

The services and GP numbers will grow over time.

"The beauty of this site is it has so much room for expansion and we want to keep our foot on the accelerator as far as that is concerned," he said.

The clinical model is based on a team approach to contribute to patient management.

Dr Yonge said they thought carefully about the needs of future staff during the earliest development phase of the project.

Staff facilities include a large common room with kitchen, dining and relaxation areas, as well as a separate staff entrance and shower facilities.

"We have also included a private and comfortable family room where the children of staff are welcome while their parents work," he said.

"Health professionals know that few workplaces assist parents in working while they are responsible for children."

Bulk billing will be available for most services.
