The single stableford event, sponsored by Lighthouse Meats, attracted more than 250.
However, with the greens getting faster as we get closer to the Better Homes Pro Am, and the southerly wind stiffening as the day progressed, the players found scoring difficult thus making the rounds of Jubelin and Murray all the more meritorious.
Playing from a handicap of one, Jubelin made five birdies in his round of 70 for 38 stableford points.
Murray, whose handicap was 13, had 22 points out and 21 home to clearly win B grade. He had a birdie at the 11th hole but it was his consistency that was the feature of his round. John Seward was the runner up in B grade with 40 points, a score that was spoilt by two holes where he failed to score any points. He also birdied the 11th hole.
Ian Campbell looked to be heading for a great score when he turned with 27 points and had 33 points with six holes left to play.
However he made three consecutive wipes and had one pointers at the last two holes. He took third place in B grade with 38 points, beating Greg Latimer and Mark Bensley on a countback.
After playing four holes Glenn Marendaz had only five points, but he recovered to win A grade with 39 points. His golf was flawless after the first four holes.
Jubelin was the A grade runner up and third place went to Geoff Drew with 37 points.
Colin Hardwick had four three pointers in his first five holes and went on to make 40 points to comfortably take out C grade.
Three points behind Hardwick on 37 points were John Gilbert and James Hanlan with 37 points and they were second and third.
