Contact the local churches for their service times and check with venues and retailers regarding their opening hours.
Both Hastings regional shopping centres were closed on Good Friday. Settlement City Shopping Centre hours are as usual for the rest of the Easter public holidays.
Port Central Shopping Centre will open an hour later at 10am and close at 4.30pm.
On Easter Sunday the centre’s hours are as usual 10am until 4pm, but Target will open an hour later at 9am and close at 6pm and Ritchies Supa IGA will close an hour early at 6pm.
On Easter Monday the centre will operate as per usual Sunday hours with the exception of Ritchies which will close an hour early at 6pm.
For the kids
❏ The Easter bunny hands out treats at Port Central Shopping Centre Saturday from 10am until noon.
❏ Koala Hospital Open Day from 9am until 2pm has stalls, a magician, Sing Australia, raffles, refreshments and our furry friends.
❏ The children can enjoy water and other outdoor sports or head to Timbertown at Wauchope, Billabong Zoo Koala and Wildlife Park, pick strawberries at Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries, go 10-pin bowling at Wave Bowl, or Go-Karting, ride the camel safari, play Hydro Golf, paintball, or go indoor climbing at Centre of Gravity.
❏ Take them to the Maritime Museum, Historical Museum, or Bago Maze or the Heritage Festival. Our colonial heritage is on show with plenty of ways to explore our past at Heritage Festival events.
❏ Douglas Vale Historic Homestead & Vineyard hosts its annual Open Day celebrations on Saturday. From 10am until 2pm there will be entertainment, craft stalls, wine tastings, heritage cars on show, tours of the homestead and more - all for a gold coin donation.
❏ On Monday a walking tour around Port Macquarie’s CBD will allow you to step back in time to discover our convict heritage. Hosted by Port Macquarie Historical Society, the $5 tour leaves at 10am from the Historical Museum on Clarence Street. Reserve a place by calling 6583 1108 and wear walking shoes and a sun hat.

❏ Port Macquarie Art Society annual Easter Art Exhibit at Port Macquarie Historic Court House on Clarence Street is open from 10am until 6pm until Monday, April 21.
❏ Sea Acres Nature Reserve and Rainforest Centre has indigenous art, guided tours along the elevated boardwalk through the rainforest, souvenirs and a unique photographic presentation on the region’s past and a French-inspired restaurant.
