The students, led by inspirational teacher Mark O'Brien, are not only giving their blood freely to help save lives, but have their eyes set firmly on the national, inter-school club red trophy.
They hope to encourage the wider community to get involved.
Each year, the trophy is awarded to the school with the highest number of donations.
From 2007 to 2011, Port Macquarie High were the proud victors of the then Vampire Shield.
Mr O'Brien said the school was once again, very determined to win the club red competition.
"We take this very seriously," he said. "This is as prestigious as any sporting competition the school participates in.
"The students know that every donation has the potential to save three lives and that only one in 30 people in the community gives blood.
"They are ready to do their bit."
The enthusiasm of the students is not lost on the senior executive of the school.
At their weekly meeting, the principal, two deputy principals and eight head teachers agreed to join the students in their efforts to donate.
They too plan on booking in to make donations in coming weeks.
Port High has a permanent booking at 1.15 pm on Wednesdays and averages four donations per week.
Many teachers are already regular donors and Mr O'Brien also hopes to encourage the remainder of the teachers, staff and also more parents.
"They will all be counted in Port High's tally," Mr O'Brien added.
Anyone can donate by contacting the Australian Red Cross Blood Service on 6562 4182 for an appointment.
