MORE than 200 talented young futsal players will converge on Port Macquarie on Monday and Tuesday for the NSW Champion of Champions tournament.
Forty-two teams will take to the Port Macquarie Indoor Sports Stadium court over the two days in a bid to qualify for the Australasian Champion of Champions.
Boys and girls from the under-13s, 14s and 15s age groups will fight it out on Monday, before the under-16 boys and under-19s boys and girls.
Teams from Port Macquarie and Wauchope will join those from Bellingen, Maclean, Wingham, Grafton, Taree and Coffs Harbour.
Among the competitors is a team from Kellyville in Sydney who, according to Australian Futsal Association's Alison Fazzolari, has 95 set plays in its repertoire.
"Their coach told me that," Fazzolari said.
She said the local sides had plenty of talent to show off.
"I think a few will do well," she said.
The seniors Australian Champion of Champions event is on in Brisbane in October, before the junior tournament in Runaway Bay in November.
