Children aged 7 to 13 years lined up at Laurieton United Services Club to get their numbers for Ironkids 2013.
They completed their swim leg at Laurieton Swimming Pool and jogged along the footpath behind the pool to transition to the bike leg from the LUSC, along McLennan St, past Bruce Porter Reserve and back.
The run leg began at the LUSC and travelled on the footpath through Bruce Porter Reserve before crossing the finish line behind the club.
Isaac Sanderson crossed the line first in the 11-13 years age group. The 12-year-old also finished first in last year. All who crossed the finish line received a medal in this non-competitive event.
Last year 80 competitors lined up for Ironkids in the Camden Haven. This year around 130 entrants participated, some leaving enough in the tank to put on a spectacular finish for the cameras - performing cartwheels! Dare the grown ups to finish like that in tomorrow's 70.3 event.
Ironkids was supported by Ironman 70.3 sponsors and volunteer organisers.
