Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams congratulated local businesses and community organisations who have put their hands in their pockets to support Bravehearts.
“The statistics that reflect child sexual abuse in Australia are shocking with an estimated one in four girls and one in nine boys being subjected to sexual assault before they reach their 18th birthday,” Mrs Williams said.
“I want to congratulate Laing and Simmons who have joined other local businesses and organisations including MacDonalds and Rotary Sunrise who have recognised the importance of this issue and have come on board as a sponsor for the inaugural Breakfast event.”
“The people of Port Macquarie are renowned for their compassion and generosity and Laing and Simmons certainly reflect this community spirit,” Mrs Williams said.
The fundraiser breakfast will be held on Friday, August 30 at Panthers from 6.45am.
Tickets to the Bravehearts Breakfast cost just $30 per person and are available at Panthers.
