HASTINGS' rower Tess Gerrand's dream London Olympic run came to an end overnight.
She was a part of the Australian Women's Eight team that was humbled by the experience and strength of their rivals and came in last place in the final.
About five seconds separated the Australians from a bronze medal and there was eight seconds difference between them and the American winners.
The makeshift Australian Women's Eight team which was thrown together at the last minute stunned many by storming into the final after impresseive performances in the heats and repechage.
Thier finish time in the final was 6:18.86.
