FARMER Bob McGowan wants to be a mayor for the people and inspire our youth.
The beef farmer from Ellenborough will sell some cattle and machinery to finance his mayoral and councillor campaign.
“I’m running for the people,” Mr McGowan said.
“I’m not on an ego trip and I’m not out for money.”
Instead, Mr McGowan said he had reached a point in his life where he wanted to give something back.
Mr McGowan spoke about the importance of ensuring our young people had the opportunity to meet their full potential.
The area was ideally positioned, he added, with the highway, airport and railway line access, to lure businesses from Sydney or even overseas.
