Vandals force library closure

The Port Macquarie library has been temporarily closed as a result of being targeted by vandals.

Extensive damage to the roof and ceiling of the library was caused in a vandalism attack over the weekend. Other property within the library, including computers were also damaged. NSW Police are investigating.

The library is expected to be closed until Wednesday July 4, while affected areas are cleaned and secured.

Ongoing repair works to the roof and ceiling will continue in the coming weeks.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused to the public and will endeavour to keep residents informed of further updates over the coming days.
