POLICE confirmed today the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run death on Wednesday was recovered from a vehicle repairer business in Port Macquarie.
They also said it was too early to speculate if alcohol, speed or drugs were a factor in the tragic accident.
A police spokesman said the investigation is ongoing and detectives were tracing the movements of the driver before the collision.
It was also revealed the driver was travelling west along Hill Street when the accident occurred about 6.15pm on Wednesday.
Police said they hope to be able to release the name of the victim today following the results of a post mortem.
