A WREATH tied to a light post in Hill Street marks the spot a mystery women tragically lost her life in a suspected hit and run overnight.
The incident has left residents and the wider community reeling.
But neighbours in the area have told Port News it was only a matter of time until a life was lost along the busy street.
"This has been about the fourth accident in as many months," one resident told the Port News this morning.
The victim is yet to be identified and police said the investigation was ongoing but urged the driver of the vehicle involved to come forward.
