For those of you travelling, the message is simple.
Be mindful of fellow motorists, abide by the speed limit and take regular breaks.
The holidays is a time to enjoy but the frustrations of travelling every year result in behaviour on our roads that can be life threatening.
Our highway police will be out and about maintaining a presence on our roads and have urged motorists to be particularly patient around areas of roadworks.
On our local roads, the message is the same. As tourists flood into the Hastings, the local road network feels the strain. Patience is the key to enjoying your holiday season.
