A Qantas spokesperson said QantasLink flight QF2260 travelling from Sydney to Lord Howe returned to Sydney due to a technical issue with the air-conditioning system.
The flight landed safely and without incident at 1.47pm.
Flight crew called ahead for medical assistance to meet the aircraft on landing as a
precaution.
The spokesperson said passengers and crew were treated for heat exposure at the airport and two passengers were taken to hospital.
