Settlement Point, North Shore, Hibbard Drive, Oaks Crescent and Fernbank Drive residents as well as businesses in low-lying areas of the CBD have been given the heads-up evacuations may be needed later in the day.
It was a wild night across the Hastings and it's unlikely to get too much better too soon.
Major flooding is current along the Hastings River at Kindee Bridge where the river was peaking around 11 metres at 7am today. This peak is higher than the 1978 flood.
At Wauchope, the river is also expected to peak higher than the 1978 flood with major flooding.
At Settlement Point, major flooding is expected about 10pm tonight. A number of homes already have water through them.
The North Shore of Port Macquarie has copped another battering. For the moment the Settlement Point ferry is still operational, however, the Hibbard ferry is out of action.
Roads to and from Wauchope are affected as water is across a number of low-lying areas.
Predicted river heights and flows from the Bureau of Meteorology:
Wauchope - Peak near 8.0 metres around 4pm Saturday with major flooding.
Settlement Point - Peak near 1.9m around 10pm tonight with major flooding.
