She will become Dale Velvet-Rose.
Mrs Rankmore is the entrepreneur behind Business Mechanic Port Macquarie and says she’s a street fighter, drag racer, in her spare time and has now transformed herself into a vintage pinup girl.
Dale Velvet-Rose is no stranger to competitions either.
As a baby she won the Happiest Baby award and became the Little Miss Big W at just three years of age.
She followed the pinup competition last year where she attended the grand final as a spectator.
This year she will grace the stage at the state final and hopefully the grand final.
She was a finalist in a local vintage pinup competition last year and was encouraged by the comradeship and positive energy of the pinup family which inspired her to enter Miss Pinup Australia.
The Miss Pinup Australia competition is Australia’s most prestigious vintage pinup competition.
Miss Pixie of Boogie Bop Dames founded the Miss Pinup Australia competition and believes women in the ‘50s era were portrayed at their finest with magnificent hairstyles, flawless makeup, clothing that was flattering to any body shape and age and, more importantly, some good old fashioned values.
The competition celebrates women of all ages, shapes and sizes, offering competitors the chance to compete in categories that cater to all women with a love for true vintage or the modern interpretation.
Dale will be competing in the Miss Prestige category, which is for pinups over the age of 40.
Each State will have their finals which commenced with Western Australia on February 9.
On the night of finals the competitors need to model in five categories – evening wear, day wear, swimwear, lingerie/sleepwear and talent.
The NSW final is on March 16 at Penrith Panthers from 5pm.
