Pitted against teams such as Parramatta in the pool, Steep said he was thrilled with the results his side was able to come up with.
“I couldn’t be happier,” Steep said. “We had a good pool, which included Parramatta and the Hills Hornets, and we gave both of those teams a touch up.”
The boys had a first round bye before flogging Parramatta 9-0 in round two.
Round three saw another big win for the locals when they accounted for the Hills Hornets 6-0 before a closer affair with the LBM Rangers, which they won 5-3.
Heading into the quarter finals in fifth position, confidence was high for the team, but they were unable to go on with things, eventually suffering a big 9-0 loss at the hands of Newcastle City.
Nonetheless, Steep was still thrilled with the way his team performed, considering the boys came up against the best in the state.
“Overall the boys had a really good tournament,” he said. “They trained really hard and they performed really well. Melinda Cotter also deserves a wrap as she was team manager and was the backbone for us.”
