He has also nominated a number of his staff who will compete.
Almost 12 months ago Mr Turnbull ran the 10-kilometre distance when the Running Festival came to Port Macquarie and he said he became a big fan.
This time around, he will run the half marathon distance of 21.1 kilometres and he will be joined by his staff, running various distances.
He said it was a great way to get involved in the community.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to get involved in the event and at the same time raise their profile,” Turnbull said.
“Personally I find running to be a bit of a release.”
Mr Turnbull comes from a strong running background and was a solid cross-country competitor in highschool.
He is also a member of the Port Macquarie Tracks and Trails Club, which runs on Thursday nights.
Last week Mr Turnbull completed a 32 kilometre run with other members of the club.
“I just love running,” he said.
“Plus it will be a great team building exercise.”'
