Police will allege a 46-year-old man attacked two men at an Aldavilla property on Sunday.
The younger of the men, a 42-year-old carer of the elderly man, initially forced the man from the home but the offender shouted threats from outside.
When the grandson went to close and lock a bedroom window, an arrow was shot through the glass, narrowly missing the man.
Police arrested the 46-year-old man without further incident.
The 46-year-old man was taken to Kempsey Police Station and charged with attempted murder.
He was refused bail to appear at Kempsey Local Court on Monday, February 11.
