Essential Energy spokeswoman Rachel Hussell said as part of the company's commitment to provide a safe, reliable and sustainable power supply to customers, crews have been upgrading the network in both areas.
The upgrade in the Riverbreeze Estate area was completed on Wednesday.
The project included the replacement of 1.1 kilometres of steel power line with thicker and stronger aluminium cable, which is able to carry a greater capacity of electricity, allowing for future growth in the area.
Power poles and cross arms were also replaced, along with 100 meters of underground high voltage cable, enhancing the strength of the network.
Crews have replaced power line in Lady Nelson Drive, Bosun Lane and Regatta Crescent in Clifton with aluminium conductor and specialised cable that has a protective coating to minimise the risk of unplanned power interruptions caused by vegetation or wildlife coming in contact with lines.
The upgrade also involved the replacement of power poles, cross arms, insulators and the installation of a new transformer to boost capacity.
Both projects required a number of planned power interruptions to allow crews to complete the work safely.
Essential Energy apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and understanding during the projects.
